Privacy
Deal Fanatics is in Quebec. This page explains how we handle personal information under Law 25.
Who runs this site
Deal Fanatics publishes Amazon.ca deals. We are in Quebec. The public site is dealfanatics.ca.
Person in charge of personal information
The person in charge of the protection of personal information at Deal Fanatics answers at privacy@dealfanatics.ca. Write to them with a question, an access request, or a correction.
What the site collects
You can browse the catalogue, the feed, and the blog without an account. We do not ask for your name, email, or address to see a deal.
When you open a deal, we add one to that deal's click count. The count is not tied to your name.
The server may keep a technical log: IP address, browser type, page requested, and time. That log is for security and for keeping the site running.
Your language choice, French or English, stays in your browser, on your device.
Cookies
Visitors do not get an advertising cookie or an audience-measurement tool. The administration session cookie is set only when an authorized person opens the admin panel.
Amazon
Deal buttons go to Amazon.ca. From there, Amazon applies its own policy. Deal Fanatics participates in the Amazon Associates Program and may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. We do not send Amazon a file in your name.
Outside Quebec
Hosting and technical logs may be processed outside Quebec. A click to Amazon sends your visit to Amazon, which may also be outside Quebec. We do not use this information to build a profile, and we do not sell it.
How long
A click count stays while the deal is on the site. Technical logs are kept for as long as security and operations need them, then deleted. The language choice stays in your browser until you clear it.
Your rights
You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, ask for a correction, or withdraw consent where consent applies. We answer in writing within 30 days. Send the request to privacy@dealfanatics.ca.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Administration is limited to authorized people.
Confidentiality incident
If an incident presents a risk of serious injury, we notify the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec and the people concerned.
Minors
The site is for adults who shop. We do not seek to collect information about children.
Complaint
You can also contact the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
